Government Packaging

 WHAT'S REQUIRED

Every government contract requires the contractor to prepare the part(s) for delivery to the final destination. The requirements may range from standard commercial packaging to something as complex as an export boxing with a watervaporproof enclosure

When MIL-STD-2073 requirements are called out in a contract, the following applies unless otherwise specified
All materials used must be certified to meet the applicable government specifications. This includes tape, cartons, staples, nails, cushioning, wood, etc
All bags used must pass the requirements of table G.II. in MIL-STD-2073 (leakage test & heat seal seam test)
All parts packaged must pass inspections for cleanliness
Application of preservative must be done without interruption
All parts packaged per MIL-STD-2073 must be inspected per appendix G, table G.I. of MIL-STD-2073 (approximately 31 inspections)
All supplemental/additional instructions in the contract must be followed
